Brain Pedagogy is a product of 15 years of research and 25 years of psychological and educational practice. It emphasizes the vital role of the brain in students' academic achievement and human development. It also advocates brain-care for students' wellbeing and optimal self-actualization.
The shaping and conceptualization of Brain Pedagogy was driven by the following facts:
Brain Pedagogy is also a product of at least fifteen (15) years of empirical research and face-to-face collaboration with teachers and students in classrooms. It is inspired as well by the author's work with children with special needs.
1. Re-introduce to the pre-service and in-service early childhood and primary school teachers the important role of the brain, sensory, and memory in teaching, learning, and assessment processes.
2. To present the integration of the brain in the curriculum in a non-intimidating, pragmatic, easy-to-apply, easy-to-understand, and easy-to-sustain approach.
3. Train teachers in training students in nurturing the power of the brain in classroom settings.
